ShopDock – An Ajax Powered Ecommerce WordPress Theme

Posted on by in Blog

Themify released their first eCommerce design for WordPress yesterday. Designed for WooCommerce, ShopDock is a clean looking HTML5 and CSS3 powered design that is suitable for any type of eCommerce store.

It comes with a cool featured product slider on the home page. In the shop visitors can sort products alphabetically, by the most recent products or by price. Adding products to the cart is very easy due to the + symbol listed on all products. Although the theme has a shopping cart page, the visitor doesn’t have to view it in order to view the products they have added to their cart as all cart items are displayed dynamically at the bottom of the page (the so called ShopDock!). The ShopDock area is updated instantly using Ajax and allows shoppers to modify their cart as they browse (i.e. without having to leave the page they are viewing).

ShopDock Ecommerce Theme

As you would expect with a WooCommerce store, the product information page looks great. Related products are shown and users can submit reviews of products too.

ShopDock Item

ShopDock has a responsive design so looks great on any browser, any resolution and any mobile device such as a phone or tablet. This is a welcome addition as so many people now browse the web through their mobile phone or iPad or Android tablet.

ShopDock Responsive Design

ShopDock comes with 7 different colour schemes: black, blue, green, orange, pink, purple and red. It has child theme support and the blog template can be shown in two, three or four columns. I originally suspected the ShopDock to be a bit gimmicky but it’s actually a fantastic feature and one of the best selling points of the theme.

A license for ShopDock retails for $39. Not only will you get an additional design from Themify when you buy (via their buy 1 get 1 promise), you can also get 30% off the price if you apply the coupon code “shopdock” for a 30% at checkout before March 2 2012.

I encourage you to check it out if you are on the market for a good eCommerce design.

Thanks,
Kevin

[email protected] for pointing that out. I originally use commerce-theme but changed it to ecommerce-theme afterwards. All good now :)
