With 82 premium themes currently in the company’s catalog, Elegant Themes has become one of the most popular WordPress theme sites on the Internet. Thanks to a Yearly Subscription plan that starts at $39 for all-access, more than 176,000 customers worldwide have signed up to become a member of the website, which is run by founder Nick Roach. Earlier this week, Roach gave customers a sneak peek at an upcoming theme, called Foxy, that is designed for business sites.
“For those who are curios about what awesome things we are working on behind the scenes, here is a glimpse at our upcoming business theme called Foxy,” said Roach. “The best themes find a way to be both simple and striking, and Foxy will be no stranger to this concept. eCommerce integration, a responsive layout and beautiful design are just a few things you can expect from this new theme. I hope that you like what you see. Let us know what you think in the comments.”
Foxy Sneak Peek
As one would expect, the upcoming Foxy thing is extremely easy on the eyes – something that the founder specializes in by using soft color palettes. The fact that Foxy will include e-Commerce integration means that customers will be able to run a full fledged online retail Point of Sale for merchandise items; complete with a shopping cart and payment gateways.
The homepage will boast a Featured Content Slider which can be used to display screenshots of commercial products or services that your company offers. The slides themselves can be configured to rotate automatically at a speed of your choosing via the back-end Control Panel, or you can let customers manually scroll through them by using the arrow icons on either side of the module.
From the screenshots that have been released so far, it appears that Foxy will come with an optional homepage blurbs section and testimonials feed that can be used to give current and past customers a way to contribute to the growth and promotion of your business.
A new download from Elegant Themes wouldn’t be complete without a fully responsive design that is capable of adjusting your site’s content to fit the screen size of mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch, Blackberry and Android. Tablet computers such as the Samsung Galaxy and iPad will also be able to comfortably view entries.
Giving readers the option to “tap” through a site from a smart phone is a necessary boon in today’s premium WordPress theme environment. Small screen Internet users who arrive at non-responsive websites will often leave quickly due to the unnecessary amount of pinching and thumb scrolling involved in viewing sites that aren’t customized for smart phones and tablets.
Elegant Themes Subscription Plans
The $39 yearly membership fee includes access to all of the company’s premium themes (82 at current count) plus full support and upgrades for the duration of the subscription. Individuals or companies who would like full access to all of Elegant Themes’ plugins along with layered PhotoShop files can opt for the Developer’s License for $89 per year.
There is also a relatively new “Lifetime” payment option that involves a one-time fee of $249 for complete access to current and future themes and plugins. This is a great option for those who would like to avoid yearly fees and pay up front for all of ET’s services and products.
Foxy Release Date
Generally speaking, new ET themes are released between 2-6 weeks after their sneak peek has been published. If this formula holds true, then we can expect the new Foxy premium theme to become available to the public at some point during May 2013.
