Less than a week ago, Elegant Themes founder Nick Roach posted a sneak peek on an upcoming theme he was planning to release. Generally, the entrepreneur posts such previews of new products a few weeks in advance, but this time there is less than a seven day span between the announcement and public release. As of Wednesday, April 10th, Elegant Themes has launched its 83rd premium theme: Foxy.
The April 10th blog post by Roach tells customers, “Foxy is a sleek, all-in-one solution for businesses. The theme finds harmony in a balance of simple and striking design elements. Foxy is fun, but it doesn’t let anything get in the way of its structured and functional layout. For those looking for a solid online solution for their business, Foxy is the theme for you.”
The soft orange color palette that greets those who view the official Foxy Live Demo page may not immediately strike new Elegant Themes customers as a hard core business theme, but don’t let that fool you. Roach is renowned for inserting subtle color designs into his premium themes and giving webmasters the ability to customize the tones to their liking within the ePanel, which boasts a full hexadecimal configuration module.
The featured content slider is located below the top navigation bar and logo, and can be programmed to automatically rotate at a speed of your choice without ever having to go into the Editor and work with code. There are also arrow icons on either side of the content that allows front-end users to manually scroll through your posts to see all the products and services your business has to offer.
A three column layout of homepage blurbs ensues, providing icons and text descriptions for ideas you want to communicate to customers. This leads into a two-tone Call To Action bar that is used to prompt visitors to click through to find out more about your company and products.
Ready For e-Commerce
One of the great things about the Foxy theme is that it is e-Commerce compatible. This means that you can easily turn your website into an online storefront capable of marketing and selling a wide range of items through customizable pages which include prices, merchandise descriptions, and even a shopping cart (separate plugin required).
Fully widgetized slots within the homepage, sidebar and footer regions ensure you are able to insert plenty of custom widgets that grant one-click access to important products and pages on your website; including social media feeds.
As with most Elegant Themes releases, Foxy comes with a 100% responsive layout that will automatically adapt the size and format of your content to fit the screen size of mobile phone devices and tablet computers.
You can test this feature out by reducing the size of your browser window when viewing the Live Demo, and adjust it to the parameters of an iPhone, Android, iPod Touch, iPad, Blackberry, Samsung Galaxy, etc.
This theme also includes a high resolution variation. According to Roach, “Foxy is our first theme to include a responsive style for resolutions over 960px. This means that the theme will look better than ever on modern screens of 1366px and above without cluttering smaller screens with overblown header sizes.”
Custom Page Templates
Of course, Foxy comes with plenty of custom page templates for publishing an independent blog feed, image galleries and portfolios. LightBox effects are used to give viewers the option to both enlarge and visit a full post whenever a screenshot is being moused over.
This new WordPress theme is compatible with WordPress 3.5.1 and a few earlier versions of the platform, plus it will look great on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera and Firefox.
