Elegant Themes Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Posted on by in Blog

Has it already been five years since we were introduced to what has now become one of the world’s leading premium WordPress theme companies? It certainly has. As of Monday, April 29th, Elegant Themes is now five years old. In a personalized blog post published earlier today, ET founder Nick Roach wrote, “It seems like just yesterday that I registered ElegantThemes.com in my college campus apartment and launched the service with a single theme, BlueSky. Late nights and double espressos fueled my excitement and kept the new themes coming as I searched for time between classes and school projects to focus on design. What was once a small hobby with a few customers has grown into a community of 180,000 lovely members, a collection of 82 beautiful themes, and a team of 20 amazing employees. Each year brings exciting new challenges, and I can’t wait to see what the next one has in store for us.”

Birthday Giveaway

To celebrate five years in existence, Elegant Themes is giving away 20 lifetime memberships via a contest that is posted within the following blog entry. All you have to do is go to the link and Like or Tweet the page via the application published within the post and you’ll be registered. The contest ends on Monday, May 6th, and entries are limited to one per day for the duration of the promotion.

Roach, who has granted a number of interviews regarding his vision when it comes to creating quality WordPress themes, has stated that he focuses on soft color palettes to make his products extremely attractive to customers. If you’re a current subscriber, then you already know that the vast majority of new releases over the last two years have featured a fully responsive design that is compatible with small screen devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Android, Galaxy, etc. This is one of the most important features a theme can have according to many, as it allows one to cater to the growing mobile device and tablet computer market by automatically changing the layout of a website’s content to fit every screen.

Elegant Themes In The Future

In his April 29th post, Elegant Themes CEO Nick Roach went on to explain what customers can expect from the company in the future. “Our plan for the future is to continue bringing you more of the best themes and plugins around for a price that can’t be beat. To do this we need to grow our team, which is why we have been working hard to build out a new office in my hometown of San Francisco where we will be welcoming new designers and developers into the Elegant Themes family :) This year I hope to greatly increase efficiency and improve the turnaround on theme releases and bug fixes with the help of our new talent. If you are a developer in the bay area with a passion for WordPress and would like to work with us, please send us an email!”

There is certainly no lack of talent and technical expertize in the San Francisco area; not to mention that the region is a great tech-heavy environment which also happens to host to flagship WordCamp event each year. Some of the main features that come with all Elegant Themes products are the ability to be compatible with the latest version of WordPress along with all of today’s popular browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Opera. Nick’s themes also come with built-in SEO along with an extremely simple yet effective Options Panel that can handle everything from custom color schemes to advertisement banner placement.

Congratulations to Roach and his team on five years of serving the WordPress community!
