The design has a great elegant look and uses great typography. The home page features a fantastic jQuery Nivo Slider to showcase your best content. Menus can be added to the header and footer using the WordPress menu system.
In total there are 7 widget areas. One in the sidebar, two in the home page and four in the footer. This makes it very easy to customise the layout of your site with the content you want.
The theme comes with a blog template and 3 customised portfolio templates (1 column, 2 columns and 3 columns). The blog template is very professional looking
Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have a great options area. You can’t even add your Google Analytics code or your Feedburner information. There is a page for customising your slider though. There are 16 different slider effects to choose from and you can enable thumbnails and pagination.
Whilst not the most advanced theme in the back end, Design Group is a fantastic looking business theme that wouldn’t look out of place in a premium theme store.
The theme was released by Flash Mint for free in August with the promise that it was only free for one day. Thankfully, that is not the case. The theme can still be downloaded for free as long as you sign up to their newsletter. Unfortunately, the email confirmation that they sent me did not include an unsubscribe link. I doubt they will spam you though if you are concerned about not being able to unsubscribe whenever you want I recommend using a free email account you don’t use regularly in order to download it.
