Less than two weeks ago, we brought you a news article explaining that WooThemes had revamped its website and done away with its WooMember management system (read our writeup here).
Now, the premier theme and plugin company has a new download available for its customers which can be purchased as a stand alone product or part of an unlimited access subscription plan. The Definition WordPress theme has a lot to offer and is a solid, all around choice for webmasters looking to take their site and content to a new level.
Definition By WooThemes
At first glance, Definition comes across as a minimalistic theme that is rather cut and dried, but one thing we immediately have to keep in mind is that this download is powered by the WooCommerce plugin. You can use Definition for your blog, business, online retail site, and portfolio, along with a number of niche concepts.
The Featured Content Slider is straight forward, with a title, description and optional Call To Action button on the left and a slot for your image on the right. There are “arrow” icons on either side of the slider that will allow your front end users to manually rotate the content if they choose to do so, and/or you can configure the slides to animate on their own by selecting the option from your Control Panel.
If you want to use this theme for your personal blog (or just wish to have a separate blog section for your business site), you can do so by implementing the feed on a separate page. In this section, tiny thumbnail images are on the right while the title, publication date, author name, category, excerpt and buttons are on the left-hand side.
Thanks to the full WooCommerce integration, Definition can take your online customers from first visit to checkout effortlessly. This is possible thanks to a hands-on Shopping Cart and PayPal compatibility that are well suited for an e-Commerce website.
If you choose to go the online storefront route, your items will show up on the homepage with large thumbnail images, price tag (optional), name and description. LightBox effects are used when merchandise is being moused over to highlight and show any additional Call To Action buttons.
Features And Testimonials
In a recent blog post on the official WooThemes site, Lead Developer Matty Cohen informed customers about the all new Features and Testimonials functionality. Features by WooThemes “pays homage to our popular ‘Mini-Features’ functionality, previously bundled into selected business themes. This plugin is a quick way to showcase what features your company, product or service offers, and to easily display that on your website,” Cohen wrote.
He went on to say that there are “options to set a byline for each testimonial, a URL to that person or company’s website and either an e-mail for a Gravatar or a featured image, showing everyone what your customers think of your company just got a whole lot easier.”
Responsive Design With Six Color Schemes
Definition boasts a fully responsive design that will give your smart phone and tablet computer visitors a unique look as it reshapes content in order to fit the screen size of each reader. This is especially useful for those who prefer not to “pinch” and “zoom” their way through non-responsive text.
There are also a total of 6 color schemes that come included with the Definition theme package when you download: Default, Brown, Coral, Green, Grey & Navy. You can change your color style with one click of the mouse from the Control Panel, plus there is a customization bar on the left-hand side of the official Demo page that will let you preview the schemes.
Theme Purchase Cost
If you wish to purchase Definition on a single license plan, you can do so for $70. The price includes 2 bonus themes and unlimited domain usage. A Developer’s license will run $150, and includes 3 bonus themes, unlimited domain usage, regular theme updates and layered PSD files.
There are a couple of unlimited access packages available as well. These will include the ability to download all WooThemes premium products.
