A Business Card Theme is a good way to show your resume or experience online. There hasn’t been many released since I did a review of the best ones available last year. So I was pleased to see the release of ZeeBizzCard by ThemeZee recently – a free business card theme that comes with a lot of great options.
ZeeBizzCard has a clean minimal style design. Some of you may love this, others may find the design a little too basic. Through the themes unique options area you can customise the colour scheme, fonts and more. In total there are 7 different colour schemes and 20 fonts to choose from and you can change common link and background colours via the options area. It also comes with 5 page templates: a social media button page, sitemap, page with slider and 2 and 3 column portfolio templates.
As you would expect from a business card theme, the vCard standard is supported. It doesn’t generate the card for you though, it simply allows you to add a link to your vCard download URL through the options area.
The theme comes with lots of short codes for displaying your resume, skills (using a 5 star rating system), personal details and social media networks. All of your personal details can be entered via the theme options area and then easily inserted into any post or page using the short code.
2 and 3 column portfolio templates are also included. The two column portfolio shows a description of each item and spaces everything out better whilst the 3 column template only shows thumbnails.
There is no in-built contact form though it does have native support for the popular free contact plugin Contact Form 7.
The blog template has a featured post slider at the top of the page. You can slide post horizontally, using a drop down or fading out. The blog is kind of basic looking and lacks important features such as post thumbnail support (though it is fairly easy to add this functionality yourself).
One of the themes strengths if the addition of a 6 section options area. You can link to your logo here and move the sidebar from the left to the right. You can also enter your personal details and style your font types and colours.
The slider can show the latest posts, posts from a category called ‘featured’ or any category you specify. The social network section allows you to add links to dozens of social media websites though the theme does lack social voting integration (i.e. the option to share posts via Twitter, Facebook, Google+ etc).
In my opinion the design of ZeeBizzCard is what lets it down against other business card themes. It’s a simple design but it’s a little too basic in my opinion. The theme is packed full of features though and with a few minor tweaks to the style sheet it could prove to be a great choice for anyone who is looking to launch an informational website about themselves.
