The theme is packed full of great features. You can change the style and layout of the design in the theme option area and it boasts an in-built SEO management system too.
It works with all major video websites so posting your favourite videos from YouTube or Vimeo will be a breeze. Several page templates are included in the theme too such as a gallery, tag archive, sitemap, full width and contact form.
I particularly like the single page template. The main image or video is placed at the top of the page with the meta information (author details, date, social media etc) being floated at the left hand side of the article. The sidebar is pretty big too making it useful for displaying your latest posts, tweets and advertisements.
The gallery template is a nice inclusion and something that I didn’t expect to see in a theme designed for newspapers.
All in all I’m pretty impressed with SimpleReader. I’m a big fan of minimal designs that place emphasis on content and themes that are versatile enough to be used for a variety of uses e.g. newspaper, magazine, blog etc.
A standard license for SimpleReader costs $49 whilst a developer license retails at $99. All purchases come with lifetime support and free access to future updates. They will also install the theme for you as well if required.
