Recently, premium WordPress theme company Organic Themes released a new download that focuses exclusively on the promotion of the individual who is actually behind a particular website. While many business themes do a great job of relaying corporate ideas and services to visitors, Profile is aimed at actual people who would like to promote and show off their work while using an attractive layout.
In a press release published earlier this month, Organic Themes representative David Morgan wrote, “Is your professional web presence scattered, outdated, non-existent? Then the Profile Theme is just what you’ve been looking for! It was designed to showcase everything awesome about you. Maybe that’s a little vain, but the internet is all about bragging rights. The Profile Theme is the perfect solution for an online resume, portfolio, personal site or just for impressing your friends.”
Profile WordPress Theme
Our look at the Profile WordPress theme begins with its homepage, which differs from many premium downloads in that it chooses to place the content slider near the bottom rather than display it prominently at the top. This is done in order to give the webmaster full leverage to insert a background image that leads into a large circular frame that is perfect for a custom avatar. By using this layout, the Profile theme works well for independent designers, writers, and a multitude of other personal business purposes for entrepreneurs.
The logo slot is centered at the very top of each page with a top navigation bar (complete with drop down menus) included to give visitors one-click access to browse important areas of your site. A small description can be included within a content box immediately below the circular image, plus there is room for a full rundown of the services you provide.
The featured content slider is contained within a large module that is ideal for showing off high quality screenshots and programming them to rotate automatically.
In the live demo, you’ll see a section called My Cool Projects that is framed off by a computer monitor graphic that encapsulates the images. Arrow icons on either side let the front-end user manipulate slides, plus there are tiny circular nodes at the very bottom that can also be used to choose which entry is being viewed.
If you are a webmaster who appreciates the ability to use a wide variety of formats to program distinct pages, then you’ll be happy to know that Profile includes separate templates for a Portfolio, Blog, Full Width and Contact Page.
In the screenshot I’ve pasted above, the Portfolio page is laid out in three columns. Although LightBox effects aren’t in use, your visitors can easily click on the thumbnail of their choice to go through to a full post to see additional information.
Profile also comes with a full shortcodes collection that can be used from the back-end to insert customized codes for content boxes, alerts, columned text, tabbed modules, image galleries, and much more.
Profile Is Responsive
The new Profile WordPress theme by Organic Themes comes with a 100% responsive design that gives a customized view for individual visitors who are browsing from an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Samsung Galaxy, Blackberry, Android or other similar devices.
This theme also includes a Retina Ready format for high resolution tablets, plus it is compatible with the latest version of WordPress as well as some earlier releases.
Profile comes with a purchase price of $69 and includes a Framework that requires zero code manipulation in order to operate as soon as it is downloaded. All you have to do is activate the theme and use the simple controls to begin programming your self-promotional website.
