Display Your Most Shared Posts

in Blog

Tom Anthony released a useful plugin last week called Most Shared Posts. The plugin displays your blog posts that have been shared the most on Google+, Facebook and Twitter; which is the top three social media websites at the moment.

The plugin is pretty straight forward. You can choose to Facebook Likes, Twitter Tweets or Google +1s. You also have the option of changing the font size, changing the icon size and removing icons altogether. Results are cached to ensure good performance.

Most Shared Posts Settings

To display the most shared posts, you just need to drag the Most Shared Posts widget to your chosen widget area.

Most Shared Posts WordPress Plugin

Most Shared Posts is a simple plugin but it’s also a very useful one. Facebook, Twitter and Google+ are currently the most popular social media websites for sharing links making this a great way to highlight your most popular articles to your visitors. Hopefully in future versions we will see other social media services such as StubmleUpon, Delicious and Reddit added to give us more choice as to what sharing sites are included in the top post calculation.

More information can be found at the links below :)

Good luck,

That is a real nice plugin and should take over most popular posts so quickly. Social media effect :)

    No problem Tom.

The admin option would be a nice addition. I’m currently using social metrics for this purpose but I’d be happy to look at an alternative.

Looking forward to the new additions :)

    Hi Kevin,

    Thanks for the review! :)

I’m just working on an update with some new bits and pieces added (including a shortcode for dropping the widget inside a post, and an admin screen for tracking shares even if you don’t wish users to see them). Hopefully will be released in the next week.

The update following that will probably be adding some more social networks – so appreciate the feedback on that!
