OnTheGo by Elegant Themes is highly unique in that its design is based on hand-drawn images that were scanned to create graphics that are very informal, yet still manage to appear professional. This theme can be a page-based Content Management System or have a blog style structure.

Use OnTheGo For Your Website
By becoming a subscriber to Elegant Themes premium products, you have unlimited access to all themes. Go to the members page and locate the OnTheGo icon and then press the Download link next to it. Subsequently, choose Theme Package from the window that pops up then save the file to your hard drive.
The next step is to open up your site’s wp-admin page and choose the Appearance > Themes tab on the left. This will bring up a new window, so click the Install Themes option at the top and then the Upload button just below that. Next, place your OnTheGo .zip folder in the space and hit Install Now.
You will be notified once OnTheGo has completely unpacked onto your website. If you are ready to make it the working theme, click the Activate button. To configure this theme, you will need to click the OnTheGo Theme Options link.
Hand Drawn Design
It’s not every day that you have a chance to review a premium WordPress theme that is based on hand-drawn graphics. While this product definitely isn’t for everyone, there are more than enough advanced features to display content regardless of whether the webmaster chooses to program OnTheGo as a page-based CMS or traditional blog.
On the homepage, there is a top navigation bar featuring pages and hierarchy with the drawing immediately underneath it. The artwork tells me that it would fit best with someone who is writing about frequent travel to a multitude of locations and giving updated “trip reports” to readers.
The homepage Featured Slider has tabbed custom fields at the top and thumbnail images on the left along with a short text excerpt. Clicking on the Read More button at the bottom-right of the slider will take your reader to the individual post or page.
Two Widgetized Areas
OnTheGo has two widgetized areas that can be customized from the “Widgets” section of your control panel. The right sidebar and bottom area can be set to display 125×125 advertisements, and/or you can go into the ePanel Ad Management tab to set the 468×60 banner to appear below posts and pages.
Blog Snippets And Comments Section
Blog entry snippets will appear on the left-hand column with Read More tags, author, date, category and number of comments – which can all be toggled on and off through the Layout Settings ePanel area. Below each post, there is an area where readers can leave comments.
There are four unique color styles that come with the OnTheGo theme: Blue, Green, Purple and Brown.
Despite its playful design, OnTheGo is a serious premium WordPress theme that is quite capable of handling the content needs of most bloggers. The content slider scrolls through slides seamlessly and can give a very different feel to your website that will have your visitors talking.
Before installing and activating OnTheGo, it is a good idea to download the Readme file from the Elegant Themes members page to find out more about how you can get the most out of this product and other premium themes.
