Launch A Personal Blog With FavePersonal
For many years Alex King has been a great contributor to the WordPress community. Many of his WordPress plugins such as Twitter Tools and Share This have close to one million downloads each.
He has been using a great looking blog design on his personal blog since last August and a few days ago he announced that the design can now be purchased. Designed using HTML5, FavePersonal has a lot of great features that distinguish it from other WordPress themes.
All WordPress post formats are natively supported in the theme (standard, status, link, image, gallery, video and quote). The post editor changes depending on the post format that you have chosen for a post.
Just like the default WordPress themes Twenty Ten and Twenty Eleven, FavePersonal allows you to use the WordPress header image feature.
The header image can be removed if you wish. Alternatively, you can choose to show the 3 most recent posts at the top of each page. From the theme settings area you can also enable or disable the social plugin, insert code into the header and footer, define your copyright code, show the login and logout buttons and remove the theme credit link.
A bio widget is included with the theme. You can display your photo here and add a description about yourself. Links to your social media profiles can also be added underneath.
Using the Kuler service from Adobe, FavePersonal lets you choose from over 10,000 colour schemes. You can also define your own if you prefer.
The comment area of FavePersonal looks fantastic. It shows the number of comments, tweets, Facebook comments and pingbacks all in the one status bar. If you select comments, other messages such as tweets are greyed out so that comments are emphasised.
Commenters can leave a comment using their email address or sign in using Twitter or Facebook.
The video below quickly runs through all of the main features of FavePersonal.
The theme demo allows you to check the front end and back end of FavePersonal out so I was able to have a good look at what the theme can do. I love the simplicity of the theme and the social media integration and post format support makes it a great theme for personal blogs. The theme is responsive too so looks great on mobile phones and tablets too.
A license for FavePersonal normally retails for $69 though it’s been reduced to $49 for launch. It comes with upgrades, documentation and forum support. 6 months priority forum and phone support can also be purchased for an additional $99. I recommend checking it out.
Thanks,
Kevin
