WP Traveller is a fantastic PhotoBlog WordPress theme that was created specifically for travellers.
The design is defined by its amazing Google Maps integration. At the top of the home page is a map of the world. Each trip is marked on the map with the latest blog posts listed underneath in a traditional format. When a visitor clicks a location, each trip associated with it is highlighted. When the visitor views the post page the map at the top of the page zooms in from the world map to the location of the trip. Each area that was visited is highlighted and a photo gallery is displayed at the top too. A traditional blog layout is displayed underneath the large photo gallery.
WP Traveller is a fantastic theme that is perfect for anyone who travels regularly and wants to keep family and friends up to date back home. It comes with 4 different designs, 4 colour schemes and a sidebars manager that lets you create unlimited sidebars. There is also a shortcode generator and it comes with custom widgets such as the useful “I’m Currently Here” location widget.
Unfortunately, it’s greatest strength if also its biggest weakness. I found that the theme was quite slow at loading because of the use of Google Maps on all posts. This is perhaps a small price to pay for adding such a useful feature to a theme.
A single license for wpTraveller retails for $35 from ThemeForest. It is well documented and there are several walk through videos available for the theme too so you shouldn’t have any problems implementing it on your website :)
