WooThemes released a great new design yesterday for musicians and bands called Unsigned. The theme shows a full screen image behind the content in all pages and whilst most music inspired themes have large headers, Unsigned has integrated the logo into the a small area at the top of the page with a navigation menu to the right hand side.
The homepage has a two column blog like layout however all of the content can be changed by selecting which widgets and modules you want to populate the design with. You can choose from featured sliders, events, news, news, photo galleries, videos, albums, galleries and much more.
Unsigned has a responsive design so looks great whether it is viewed on a netbook or a large PC monitor. It also looks great on mobile devices such as tablets and mobile phones.
The demo showcases exactly what can be achieved with the design with pages for a biography, band members, album details and the blog. All of these pages have a similar look with the content on the left hand side and widgets down the right hand side. It also comes with site map, archives and contact form templates.
The events post type lets you post details of past, present and upcoming gigs and events. You can specify the date, venue, type of event and whether the event is part of a tour.
All of your events can be plugged into your home page using the events widget. It’s set up so that you can group events together by tour.
All band websites come with a discography page and Unsigned makes setting this up very easy with the discography module. Albums can be sorted into categories with details of the album such as release date and the album cover displayed. Unsigned even lets you sell albums using the WooCommerce WordPress Plugin.
There’s a lot to love about Unsigned. Photo, video, events and discography modules make it easy to show the world you, your band and your music. It also has support for SoundCloud, custom typography and all the additional widgets you always get with WooThemes designs. There is a light version of the theme included with the package too. All in all it’s a fantastic design and I’m sure it will fit the needs of a lot of musicians.
A standard license for Unsigned costs $70 and comes with two free additional designs from WooThemes. The developer license costs $150 and comes with 3 additional designs and the original Photoshop PSD file. Lifetime support and updates are provided with both licenses.
